Momentum KC

KANSAS CITY, MO

Momentum’s construction demanded hospitality-level precision under an aggressive schedule, driven largely by the project’s high-end finish package and associated procurement lead times. To stay on track, our team maintained rigorous control of submittals, approvals, and sequencing particularly for long-lead components including millwork, tile, lighting, steel, and specialty flooring.

The most technically demanding scope was the tile program. The design incorporated eight distinct tile selections installed in tight, highly visible areas with multiple patterns and a custom branding inlay requiring elevated preplanning, mockup-level coordination, and meticulous field execution to deliver the intended aesthetic.

Late-stage material decisions further increased complexity, including a change at the bar face from glass to gold tile and an expanded tile palette (nine total tile types).

In addition, the specialty coating behind the bar and at the bar ceiling presented a “one-shot” quality requirement. Touch-ups were not acceptable so the application had to be flawless on the first pass, reinforcing the need for strict surface prep, protection, and QC controls.
