909 Walnut Lobby Renovation

Kansas City, MO

Originally constructed in 1932 for Fidelity National Bank & Trust, 909 Walnut was repurposed to a multi-family residential building in 2004. Fast forward to 2019, when the new owners sought to update the historic building’s entry and common spaces. The renovation included demolition and new construction leading to significantly improved visibility from the existing building’s entry into the lounge. New floors and ceilings were included throughout, with the addition of a coffee bar, and fireplace, and additional seating. The connection

from the lobby to the building’s leasing office was improved. On the lower level, the existing fitness and Yoga area along with vending area received new finishes throughout, and a new game room including poker, billiards, and TV lounge. The project also included a new modern dog wash area. Much of the original historic fabric and finishes in the building are still intact in the lobby and were protected and maintained throughout the updates. The project also included improved electrical and data connectivity.
